Move the website
with a proper plan.

A hosting move should start with knowing what is connected to the site. I can assess the current setup and quote a migration, including the checks around the switch.

List what is moving.

Website files, databases, media and connected services may have different owners and transfer requirements. We agree what the migration includes and which parts stay with their current provider. Email is checked separately.

Get the accounts and access straight.

We identify the domain registrar, DNS records that direct visitors and email, hosting, email and any important integrations. You retain control of the business accounts. Missing access and supplier handover work are resolved before a switch is scheduled.

Prepare and check the destination.

The new environment needs to suit the website. We agree how the website is copied, the testing, data handling and a rollback plan for returning to the previous setup, including how new orders, bookings or edits made during the move will be treated.

Agree the switch-over.

The plan identifies who changes the DNS records, which URLs need redirects and how forms, checkout and email will be checked. Timing and expected interruption are agreed for that particular migration.

What would you
like to know?

These are the questions worth sorting out before handing over access or agreeing the work.

Can you move an old site?

I can assess the platform, runtime and available files first. Old software may need repair or replacement work before it can run elsewhere.

Will the move affect email?

It depends on the setup and what changes. We identify email hosting and DNS before the migration and agree how email is protected or moved.

Tell me about it

Send the website address or current email provider, and what needs sorting.
We agree the access and the work from there.
